How can I request late check-out?

Late check-out is based on availability and may be subject to an additional fee. Please contact our Front Desk for details and availability. Unrequested late check-out’s between 11:00AM EST and 3:00PM EST will be subject to an additional 50% of room rate. Departures after 3:00 PM will be subject to an additional full night’s stay at the current rate. Luggage storage is available after check-out until 11:59PM EST.

Can I request early check-in?

Early check-in is based on availability and cannot be guaranteed unless booked in advance. Guest departures vary daily. In the event your room type is available and fully serviced by our housekeeping staff, the hotel will provide an early check-in when possible. Additional charges may apply. Luggage storage is available if your room is not ready before 3:00 PM EST.

Will I be charged for an early departure?

If your booking is prepaid, nonrefundable – the full stay will still be charged. All other reservations will be subject to an early departure fee.

Is the hotel pet friendly?

Pets are not allowed at The Mansfield Hotel. Service animals specifically trained to aid a person with a disability are welcome.

Does the hotel provide Wi-Fi?

Yes, Wi-Fi is available throughout the property and is included in the daily Facility Fee.

What is the minimum age required to check in?

Minimum age required to check-in is 18 with valid government issued ID and a valid credit card.

What is the hotels’ cancellation policy?

Cancellation is 48 hours prior to arrival date before 3:00 PM EST. Other bookings, such as Non-Refundable, have a different cancellation policy. Please refer to your confirmation letter.

Can I smoke in the hotel?

The Mansfield Hotel is a smoke-free New York hotel. If you smoke in your room or any area within the property, a $300.00 smoking fee will be applied. Noise and smoke complaints are taken very seriously. Excessive noise and all smoke complaints will be addressed by our Security Department. Vaping is not allowed as it triggers the smoke detectors in the rooms. If you experience any type of noise or smoke issue during your stay, please dial “0” for immediate assistance.

What is the facility fee included with my reservation?

The hotel charges a mandatory facility fee of $28.69 inclusive of tax per room, per night, in addition to the room rate. This fee provides guests with an array of services and amenities including:


  • - Wi-Fi connection for unlimited devices
  • - Continental breakfast, served daily in the library from 7-10 AM
  • - Evening wine hour (4PM-5PM)
  • - Coffee and tea service available 24 hours a day in the library
  • - Unlimited domestic phone calls (within the USA)
  • - 24 Hour Business Center
  • - Package receiving
  • - Two bottles of water at check-in
  • - 24 Hour Fitness Center

What happens if I damage the guest room?**

Any damage to the room(s) or public property within the hotel needs to be reported to management immediately. After review and assessment, a penalty may be posted to your folio based on severity of the damage(s).


Which is the closest subway station to the hotel?

42nd Street- Bryant Park Station is located at 6th Avenue and 42nd Street. Connections and/or transfer to the B, D, F and M trains. Grand Central Station is approximately a 10-minute walk from the hotel, located at 89 East 42nd Street. Connections and/ or transfers to the 4, 5, 6, and 7 trains, as well as shuttle service to 42nd Street- Times Square station and Metro North Railway.

Does the hotel have onsite parking and/or valet parking?

Valet parking and self-parking are available through SP+ Parking Garage, located at 38 West 46th Street, between 5th and 6th Avenues. The reduced rates for hotel guests are as follows: Valet parking is $45.00 for 24 hours (additional $10 for oversized vehicles). For valet parking, you may leave your car at the hotel entrance and speak with a bellman who will assist you further. Self-parking is $40.00 for 24 hours (additional $10 for oversized vehicles). Additional charges will apply if 24-hour period is exceeded. There are no IN/OUT privileges.

What will it cost to hire a cab or town car from the airport to The Mansfield Hotel?

NYC Yellow taxis have a flat rate from JFK Airport to Manhattan. Please check with the taxi dispatcher at your terminal upon arrival for current rates. The following are average (estimated) prices and traveling times from the three area airports:

  • - JFK Approximately $70.00 – $110.00 & 1-1 ½ hour drive
  • - Newark Approximately $90.00 – $120.00 & 1-1 ½ hour drive
  • - LaGuardia Approximately $55.00 – $80.00 & 45-minute drive
  • - Does the hotel have a concierge desk?

We do have a concierge desk to help with sight-seeing, Broadway show information, dining reservations, and more!

Does the hotel have a courtesy shuttle to and from the local airports?

The hotel does not have a courtesy shuttle but our concierge and front desk team will be able to assist you in making reservations for a private car or third party shuttle service. Please visit our Contact page for more information.


Do you have a restaurant in the hotel?

Our restaurant is currently undergoing renovations and is temporarily closed.

What type of payment is accepted at The Mansfield Hotel?

The hotel accepts the following credit cards: AMERICAN EXPRESS, VISA, MASTERCARD and DISCOVER.

All bookings must be guaranteed with a valid credit card. Personal, traveler’s check or cashier’s check are not accepted. Cash may be used to pay upon departure.

Third party credit card authorizations will be accepted at least 14 business days before arrival. Please visit our Contact page for more information and details.

Does the hotel require any kind of deposit prior to checking in?

Yes, this may be paid by credit/debit card at check-in. A refundable incidental hold will be taken at check-in in addition to your projected room charges. Incidental hold: $100 per day up-to a maximum of $200 per stay.
Non-Refundable reservations will be charged in full at the time of booking. Please refer to your confirmation letter.
Full payment and incidentals will be pre-authorized on your credit card at time of check-in.

How long until CREDIT/DEBIT authorizations are released?

The hotel will release the authorization on your departure day. While most credit cards issued by US based banks take 5-7 business days, it can also depend on the issuing bank’s policies. INTERNATIONAL debit and credit cards may take up to 30 days or more depending on the bank.


Our amenities include:

Continental Breakfast served in the library daily from 7:00AM – 10:00AM
Wine Hour served in the library daily from 4:00PM – 5:00PM

Does the hotel have a fitness center, pool, or spa?

There is a 24-hour Fitness Center in the lobby, equipped with a variety of machines to help you achieve your fitness goals. There is no pool or spa on site.

Is there an ATM on site?

We do not have an ATM on the property. The nearest bank is one block away.

Does the hotel provide child cribs?

We provide Pack ‘n Play’s upon request, based on availability.

What if we have an unexpected guest; do you provide roll away beds?

No, we do not provide roll away beds. All of our guest rooms are sized to accommodate a specific number of guests in accordance with NY fire safety laws.

Do all rooms have a refrigerator?

Refrigerators are available upon request, based on availability.

What bathroom products are provided in your rooms?

We provide shampoo, conditioner, lotion and soap in our guest rooms. Hair dryers are provided in all guest rooms.

Can we get our clothes laundered or dry cleaned during our stay?

No, we do not currently offer dry cleaning or laundry service. We can certainly make recommendations if you require these services.

Does the hotel have a gift shop?

We do not have a gift shop.

Do the guest floors have vending and/or ice machines?

There is a vending machine located in the Fitness Center on the Lobby level. Ice is available upon request. You may request ice by dialing “0” on the room phone or by speaking with one of our Front Desk team members.


Does The Mansfield Hotel handle packages for guests? Is there a charge by the hotel to handle packages?

The hotel will accept packages for all arriving and in-house guests. Packages without a matching name to the reservation will not be accepted and will be sent back to sender. The Mansfield Hotel will not store packages throughout the guest stay in the package room. All packages should be addressed to the name of the guest(s) registered on the reservation, followed by the complete address of the hotel. Please make sure you have the tracking number of your package in order to collect your package. If checking out, collect your package well in advance. This service is included in the facility fee. Please note we do not hold regular mail.

Does the hotel have a baggage holding area? Is there a fee?

Yes, we do have a luggage holding area. The hotel can hold luggage as early as 3 days prior to arrival date providing there is a future reservation booked. The hotel cannot hold onto luggage beyond 11:59PM of departure date. In addition, the hotel does NOT offer overnight storage.

If we are a non-profit agency or are tax exempt, how do we get our tax exemption?

TAX EXEMPTION: All guests who are tax exempt will need to bring their own New York City and State tax exemption forms fully signed. In addition to providing the tax exemption documents, the tax-exempt organization must pay for the stay in order for it to be tax exempt. This can be prepaid with the organization’s credit card (CC authorization form) at least 14 days prior to check-in. We would then apply payment for the room charge and set up the tax exemption in the hotel system so taxes do not run.

If the stay is not prepaid and guest claims tax exemption at check-in, they need to present the tax exemption documents and the exempt organization’s CC that belongs to the guest on arrival.

If the guest paid on their own without a tax exempt form or pre-payment on arrival, then the guests have a 90 day window after check-out to present proof of tax exemption and payment from the organization (CC authorization form). Once we receive the valid ST-129 New York State form, we will refund the taxes charged in full.

Do you have any meeting or banquet space?

Does the hotel offer any rooms for the disabled?

Yes, we have Queen ADA Rooms available at the hotel. Subject to availability.
